Took a work trip over to Rome and was fortunate enough to do a bit of site seeing whilst I was over there and took some beautiful photos of the city. If you’re planning a visit these are the places I went to and a few pictures I took as well.
The Vatican
A place of real awe, now photographers something to note. Some areas are restricted and you’re not allowed to take any pictures, in some areas you are allowed pictures but no flashes are allowed. There are so many rooms and photography opportunities so definitely lots to get shooting whether it be statues, artwork, buildings, landscapes, or whatever tickles your fancy.
St Peters Basilica and city views
Now for super nice views of the Piazza San Pietro and of Rome, then you need to head up St Peters Basilica. It’s a pain to get to the top so be prepared for a lot of old stairs and climbing, but the view is so worth it.
Not only that but you’ll also get to tour the church inside, and that’s where honestly I think I got some of my favourite pictures of the holiday. There are so many vantage points to capture the artwork and you can get some cool shots with the lighting.
Trevi Fountain
It’s a classic Instagram spot, if you’re googling most Instagrammable places in Rome for pictures then this is a spot. For me it was just a passing-by trip however if you’re super keen on getting this shot then I suggest you go quite early to avoid the crowds and get that shot for the gram.
Spanish Steps
Another one which gives you a cool city view, and when we got to the top we got this super harsh sunlight on the city, which I kinda like. You can get some nice pictures of the steps and also the streets running alongside.
Streets of Rome
Now Rome is the kind of city where most places are super pretty and picturesque. It’s like that for most of Italy, to be honest. So one of my favourite things to do is just to wander around and explore. You can honestly find some cool photography spots.
